Without Butterflies
Feelings
Are not my strong point
Like the lone wolf I am
The butterflies that dwell in your stomach
Do not dwell in mine.
You say, just keep waiting
They’ll develop in time
But what if those insects
The creatures you worship
Aren’t meant for me
And not just a mix-up?
The red in my cheeks
That I do not feel
Though love seems bleak
I know can be real
Although I do not feel it
I do feel romance
I crave the joy
Of a first kiss
Like the lone wolf hunts for a pack
And pretends to not care
My absence of butterflies
The feelings I do not share
