What’s Coming to Netflix: December 2020
Now that you’ve binge-watched season four of The Crown, all of Dawson’s Creek and Shawn Mendes: In Wonder, Netflix has some new arrivals for you to watch while cozied up by the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa to finish off the year. Since the theaters aren’t exactly filling up as they normally would, most of the movies are being released on Netflix. Especially now, people are relying on this platform to keep themselves busy and waste some time and, of course, distract themselves from all the current chaos….so to end the year strong: Netflix is releasing new originals, classic comfort movies and the newest seasons to your favorite shows!
To bring out the extra holiday mood, here are some of the Christmas themed arrivals for this month:
- Angela’s Christmas Wish: A heartwarming story of a little girl whose one wish is to reunite her family in time for the holidays.
- A California Christmas: This romcom features a city businessman who makes a deal with his boss for him to be promoted, if he is able to convince a farmer to sell their land to the company before Christmas.
- The Great British Bake Off : Holidays – Season 3 of this competitive reality show will definitely get you hungry and in the mood for the holiday season.
Movies to watch to give you the movie theater feeling:
- Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom: Chadwick Boseman’s last movie before his recent passing. Set in Chicago, this film displays the tensions and experiences of the real life blues singer, Ma Rainey.
- Midnight Sky: George Clooney’s newest movie where he both starred and directed in it. The post-apocalypse film features a lonesome scientist in the arctic attempting to stop a group of astronauts from returning home.
- Mank: This black and white film is about Hollywood in the 1940’s by recreating behind the scenes of the making of Citizen Kane.

- Selena: The Series– A coming of age Netflix original about a Mexican-American singer who follows her dreams and passions of music to succeed.
