Haikus Vol. II

Distant sea kingdom

Swallowed up by the frothing waves

Far too long ago.

Just when I’ve lost you

I place my hand on my heart

And then you are found.

What lies beyond the

Perfect straight white picket fence?

It’s not what you think.

Windows open, sun,

Except the old gray house’s:

They do not open.

To find your fortune

You must leave the safety of

Emerald City.

The sky’s always blue

And every day is like spring

When you’re in the world.

Come, get in the boat

And let me row far away,

Where we’re free to dream.

Sand clouds the path

But the horses know the way

Faster than ever.

Just to see you smile

I’d take you to the sailboats

And we’d never leave.
