Is the 93rd Academy Awards Show Happening in 2021?

The Academy Awards is a ceremony to honor the film industry that started almost a century ago. Although they are postponed until April 25th, the Oscars will still go on. In 2020, many films featured talented actors that made them so binge-worthy. Watching shows and movies became the source of some people’s happiness during quarantine. Waiting for that new episode to come out, or rewatching the endings of your favorite movies, can bring you some excitement. This awards ceremony will definitely be one to remember whether it is held virtually or the audience is socially distanced with masks. Many movies produced the past year or still yet to come out because they were unable to be featured in theaters, are still eligible to win an award. Others were fortunately able to pair with online sites such as Disney Plus to have their films released to an audience. This year’s Academy Awards will definitely be in Netflix’s favor, being that is where most people have been streaming movies. They have released tons of new films throughout the year, and it is likely that Netflix could fill some of the ballots for the nominees.

Here are some nomination predictions for the 2021 Academy Awards Best Picture:

  • “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”
  • “Soul”
  • “Mank”
  • “Nomadland”
  • “Wonder woman 1984”
  • “The Trial of the Chicago 7”
  • “Da 5 Bloods”

The show must go on!
