A Quick Reminder…

Self-care and self-love are not the same thing. While self-care is great for someone to partake in, it is often too confused with self-love. If you truly want to heal from whatever it is that is beating you down, you need to practice self-love. Self-love is making decisions you need to, not what you want to. It is doing what’s best for you and simply not doing what you’re used to doing. It is putting yourself in a situation that perhaps you’re not happy with how it feels now, but knowing that it will benefit you later.

Self-love is tough love. It’s also part of maturing because it’s you taking it upon yourself to do what is right for you. It is YOU getting out of bed every morning when you don’t want to; it is YOU going to school and studying even when it’s difficult; it is YOU still managing to be there for others, even when it feels like you can’t be there for yourself.

Believe me, I know it’s extremely difficult, but I promise you that it will be worth it. The more you practice doing what’s best for you, the happier you will be because you will soon start to realize how much you’ve learned, what suits you, and what you must move on from. Now, go practice some self-love, I believe in you!
