2021-2022 Fall Sports Overview
As the 2021-2022 fall season ends, we can reflect on the hard work the fall athletes put into this year’s sports season.
Field Hockey
The 2022 season proved to be challenging for the Field Hockey Team this year, with a current 0-13 record. The girl’s close out their 15 game season next week, with matches against Brick Memorial and Holmdel. Some of this year’s top players include Anna Connely, with a total of 72 saves this season and 211 saves throughout her career at the Boro.
Football
With an impressive 3-3 record, the football team proved to have an upstanding season this fall. Some of their most notable wins this year included the “Battle of the Duke” game, in which they played Freehold Township High School and won 41-12. Their top players throughout the season were Kamore Gill with a total of 1,009 yards in passing and Yah-Sin Calhoun, with 248 yards receiving. The team has their final homecoming match this weekend against Manalapan, and we wish them luck as they close out their season.
Girls Soccer
Another challenging season, the girls’ soccer team scored a successful 7-0 win against Long Branch last week. With a total of 5 assists and 3 saves, the girls proved to be a challenging team. They have their final match this Thursday against St.Rose High School, and we wish them luck as they finish the season.
Girls Tennis
While many fall sports teams face their final matches, the Girl’s Tennis team appears to have many more games in their season. With a 7-4 record, they scored wins over many top-level teams, such as Saint John Vianney and Wall High School. The girls have upcoming games against Mater Dei, Howell, and Colts Neck, and we hope they can finish their season strong.
Boys Soccer
The team competes in their last match this week against St. Rose and ends their season with a 2-9-1 record. With impressive wins against Barnegat and Matawan, We hope the team continues to compete well in their last game. Some impressive players include Alberto Pantoja, with a season total of 61 saves.
Girls Volleyball
The Girls Volleyball team concludes their season with an accomplished 13-2 record, defeating many skilled teams, such as Howell, Marlboro, and Point Pleasant Beach High School. Setter Juliana Esteban, had a total of 214 assists this season followed by 104 service points. Outside Hitter Audrey Sousa, concludes her season with 94 kills this season and 62 service points. This Thursday, the girls have their final Division Championship against Colts Neck High School. We wish them all the best in their match to win Boro their first Division banner for Girls Volleyball!
Gymnastics
With a 5-3 season, the Gymnastics team ends very successfully. The girls started off with an impressive 100.65-85.55 win against Neptune, in which Jamarie Saravia had an 8.35 on bars, followed by Camilla Hobart with an 8.7 on Beam. The team concludes their season with two more matches against Ocean Township and Colts Neck High School. We wish them luck as they continue their season strong.
