Out of the many movies that I have seen over the years, there are few that have fully immersed me into their stories. Interstellar is one that I think about often, and leaves me mesmerized each time I watch it. The accomplished director, Christopher Nolan, directed this action-packed film. Many recognize him from his most famous movies: The Dark Knight, Inception, Dunkirk, and many more. However, having seen all of his movies, I found Interstellar to be the most impactful. It is an atmospheric, perplexing film about a global crop blight in Earth’s future, leaving it to be inhabitable. A brilliant NASA physicist, Professor Brand, played by Michael Caine, is working to save the human race by calculating a plan to transport Earth’s population to another planet through a wormhole. For this plan to work, he requires the assistance of former NASA pilot, Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) and a team of researchers in order to travel across the galaxy and find a new home for mankind. I found the concept of time in this movie to be very meaningful. By the end, I always appreciate time so much more, and I remind myself to make the most of it. Also, the soundtrack of this film is the best from any film, in my opinion. This paired with the beautiful visuals only adds to the captivating experience Interstellar provides. The chills I’ve gotten from this masterpiece are unmatched. And although many shy away from this movie because of it’s science-heavy plot, I believe it provides a new perspective on life, one that everyone should experience. Interstellar, filled with incomprehensible sacrifice and heart wrenching twists, is a must-watch for anyone and everyone.
