Random Acts of Kindness Day
This Thursday, February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day! Created by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, the day is dedicated to “making kindness the norm.” The foundation wants to emphasize how being kind everyday is an easy way to change someone’s life for the better.
Easy ways to participate include giving someone a compliment, cleaning up after someone else, and being respectful towards teachers and classmates. While these are things that should be done everyday, many basic societal principles are forgotten when times are challenging or when everyone is extremely busy in their day-to-day lives. Other ways to make a change can be cooking a meal for your family or friends, helping someone with their homework, or even buying a gift for someone who has been there for you to show your appreciation.
No matter how big or small the action is, the whole point of the day is to reincorporate kindness into people’s daily routines. The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation has partnered with other organizations that encourage kindness and worldwide positivity like the World Happiness Foundation and the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence to bring attention to how much of an impact a single act of kindness can have. Make sure to participate on February 17th, 2022 to help make a difference!
