October
My heart pounded, just thinking about
What day it was I had thought to myself…
The wind grew stronger and stronger
The leaves rustling on a breezy night
It was the start of fall, the kids were outside
On the curb sitting on the rocky, worn-out cement
The little girl kicking the leaves, enjoying the last
Of her childhood; she didn’t know what she could except tomorrow
So she enjoyed the last of it, as I shut off my phone, deleting the last
video I had and went outside to the curb where it all was;
I thought to myself I really wished it didn’t end I wasn’t ready to let go yet.
