Along with back-to-school shopping and the beginning of a new school year comes the first high school dance of the year. Homecoming began as a celebration for the first football game of a college’s season and has now come to being a high school tradition.

The week prior to homecoming is spirit week. Each day you can dress up according to the theme. This gives you the opportunity to win points for your grade, which can be used for battle of the classes in the Spring.
The themes for each day are:
- Monday: Onesie/PJ day
- Tuesday: Rhyme without reason
- Wednesday: Barbie vs. Ken / Pink Out
- Thursday: Soccer mom vs. BBQ dad
- Friday: Boro Day
On the day of the dance, Boro has a tradition that no other school in the district has . . . a parade! This year, the parade starts off downtown at Rita’s at 1 p.m… Staff and students are encouraged to join along while members of the band and student council walk through the downtown area all the way to the school, spreading spirit with each step. The football game will start at around 2 p.m.. Go and support the football team at their game against Brick Memorial. After the game comes, the most awaited part of the day finally starts. The homecoming dance will begin at 7 p.m. in the main gym. The theme this year is the “roaring 20s”/ “The Great Gatsby”. Tickets will be sold in front of the gym for $8 until October 4th, so make sure to get your tickets because they cannot be purchased at the gate. At the dance there will be food, music and the crowning of the homecoming queen and king. So go ahead and buy your ticket to what may be your first high school dance because you will be sure to enjoy it.
