Sitting in school for seven hours watching people tap their feet nervously on the ground. Waiting for the clock to strike 2:06. Tick Tock. Four years of this over and over again. Lunch is the one time of the day where for thirty minutes we don’t have to sit in a classroom. But even then, we are limited not just to the high school or even a hallway, but to a single room. We can’t wander the halls. As much as I do respect the board of education and everything, it really makes a girl think. We feel (whether most kids say it or not,) like cattle constantly being moved around with no free will. My proposal is that they allow us (seniors) to go out to lunch, as downtown Freehold is only a short walk away. It might be a way for people to get their pent-up energy out and to have fun and get fresh air. Even though I understand that there are rules and regulations, maybe we should consider giving it a try. As the saying goes, it can’t hurt to try new things.
