As we begin scheduling for the upcoming school year, I wanted to highlight one of the amazing programs Freehold High School has to offer; the Health Professions Pathway Program (HPPP)!! HPPP is an amazing program to be a part of for students who are looking to pursue a career in the medical field, looking to obtain college credits whilst being in high school, or simply interested in learning about the human body. Students can begin this program their sophomore year of high school. Students will be taking four classes throughout the program where they will be able to obtain 12 college credits in total if they pass all of the Rutgers Exams!!
These Classes Include:
-Sophomore Year: Honors Dynamics Of Healthcare In Society (full year) (3 college credits if you pass the Rutgers Exam)
-Junior Year: Honors Medical Terminology (half year) (3 college credits if you pass the Rutgers Exam) and Honors Emergency & Clinical Care (half year) (2 college credits if you pass the Rutgers Exam)
-Senior Year: Honors Anatomy & Physiology (full year) (4 college credits if you pass the Rutgers Exam)
I am a Junior in the Health Professions Pathway Program and I can confidently say one of my best decisions was joining this program my sophomore year. I have learned so much from taking these classes and I have learned a lot of information about health that I can use in my everyday life. Additionally, my teachers in this program have been immensely helpful and supportive and I am extremely grateful for all they have taught me so far. Overall, this program has offered me many opportunities and I can not wait to continue this program my senior year. I definitely recommend taking this program!!
