Freehold Boro’s very own Model UN delegation attended the Greater Philidelphia YMCA Model United Nations Conference on the weekend of January 10th! The conference took place at the Convention Center at Hershey Lodge in Hersey, Pennsylvania. Over the two-day conference, delegates from Freehold Boro debated, presented resolutions and amendments, and spoke to defend their country’s viewpoint.
Boro sent over 60 delegates to the conference, with a total of 1300+ delegates from six states in the Northeast. Delegates participated in various committees: Social and Humanitarian, Historical Security Council, Environment and Technology, and more! Our very own Sayuri Shree, Lucky Mondrati, and Sean Misquith were chairs for the Group of 20, MENA (Middle East and North Africa), and Security Council C committees, respectively.
At the end of the conference, many delegates won awards for their work in their committees!
Benjamin Sorokin won the election for chair of Security Council C for the 2026 Conference
Jayden Billingsley won Best First Year Diplomat (G20 Committee) and was selected to be an alternate delegate for the Conference On National Affairs
Arianna Maini won Best Government Research Paper (Economy and Finance Committee A)
Finally, the entire Freehold Boro Delegation was recognized as a Premier Delegation. We were chosen for this award because all of our delegates got their GRPs submitted on time and were respectful to the chairs and staff. Congratulations to all!
Thank you to Mrs. Cohen, the MUN Club Executive Board, and all of the chaperones for your hard work in making a great conference experience!
