What does reaching 1000 points mean to you?
“It means a lot to me, it shows how all my hard work paid off and especially, like, all the times I practiced when I didn’t want to and when I was tired even though I still did it. It shows like, all of that paid off.”
What were you thinking the moment you scored your 1000th point?
“I didn’t even realize that it happened, like, I didn’t realize I was that close but when everyone started going crazy that’s when I realized, and then I felt really relieved that I didn’t have to, like, worry about it anymore, and I felt proud of myself.”
Did you set this goal for yourself, or did it happen naturally over time?
“It definitely happened naturally over time, I wasn’t expecting it. At the end of my freshman season, I finished with 35 points, so, I would never have thought even then or sophomore year I never would’ve thought that I would make it to 1000 points.”
How did you keep your motivation throughout the season?
“It was hard, especially because I struggled with a lot of sickness and injuries, but my teammates really kept me uplifted and in good spirits when I was feeling down.”
What is your next goal you hope to reach? How will you get there and why?
“Well, the next goal I hope to reach is to make a big run in states. We have a game today that we can upset a team, and then we have another game on Saturday. After that, the next goal is just to play really good in college.”
