For the first time ever, Freehold Borough High School is having its first-ever joint Mr & Mrs. FHS! This is a very exciting event where certain girls and boys are picked to sing, dance, and overall entertain! The crowd then votes, and a new FHS king & queen are crowned.
Let’s take a look and ask two of the contestants, Michael Faller, Senior, President of National Honor Society and captain of the boys soccer team & Johnny Ward, senior, member of the National Honor Society & 3-year varsity soccer player, about the upcoming night:
On a scale from 1-10 how excited are you about the competition? Are you nervous at all?
Johnny: “10, I’m thrilled for this competition. All this hard work we all did as a group for these past 3 months is really gonna pay off, I’m a little nervous but I’m ready to win.”
Michael: “I’m extremely excited for the competition. We have all dedicated the last 3 months to putting on a great show. I’m not nervous at all, pressure is for tries.”
How do you feel about the competition? Are you intimidated by anyone in particular?
Johnny: “The competition is very competitive, I think very close, but personally I think [Heather and I] have by far the best dance!”
Michael: “Everybody is super motivated to win. Overall, everyone has done great coordinating their talents, but I’m confident that my partner and I [will] win.”
How do you feel about combining Mrs. FHS? Does it make you worried about the added pressure?
Johnny: “I think it was a great idea to combine with Mrs. FHS. It makes the talents much more interesting and fun.”
Michael: “Combining the event has definitely added some more expectations and attention, but overall I think it’s a change for the better as more people will see!”
How prepared do you feel about the competition?
Johnny: “Very prepared! We spent months practicing and spent a lot of time on the dances. I’m excited to show everyone at the competition.”
Michael: “I’ve never felt more prepared for something in life than I feel for this competition. I’m ready to blow the judges and audience out of the water and win.”
